The BMW Hotelier Award 2016 presented two winners for the Unsung Hero Award. Representing Greater China was Li Hui Ling from Mandarin Oriental, Taipei and ASEAN winnerChotichat Chananantapon from Peninsula, Bangkok. The award is one of the most popular categories and it is designed to recognise and honour the hard-working unsung hoteliers in the industry.
Li Hui Ling was delighted to take home the award which was a fantastic reflection of her skills and dedication. She acquired her hard-working mentality during her younger years as she initiated numerous volunteer projects. At Mandarin Oriental, Taipei, Li Hui Ling creates a harmony amongst her team which is strongly reflected in the laundry department.

ASEAN winner Chotichat Chananantapon was awarded as the unsung hero for his positive attitude and willingness to serve the Peninsula, Bangkok as an Airport Representative for eighteen years. Equipped with a never ending smile, proactive work ethic and unparalleled dedication, he truly creates an extraordinary experience from the moment his guests exit customs.
“I like to take care of the guests. I always want to make sure that they are happy to stay at the Peninsula and happy to be in Thailand. I am the first member of staff they meet at the airport and the last they see before their departure. I will do anything to make sure that they are happy and that they will come back again soon”.
